Abstract
545,389. Discharge lamps. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., BOURNE, H. K., and BEESON, E. J. G. Jan. 10, 1941, No. 381. [Class 39 (i)] In electric discharge lamps of the compact source high pressure mercury vapour type, radiating fins 4 are provided in thermal contact with and transverse to the lead-in or support wire for one or both of the electrodes 2 forming the anode of a lamp working on D.C. or A.C. respectively so as to protect the seal from overheating. The fins are formed by slotting the back of the mass of the electrode transversely as shown at 3. According to the Provisional Specification the slots may be longitudinal of the electrode axis.
