Abstract
541,653. Hormones. THOMPSON, J. H., MITCHESON, Sir G. G., and KITSON, T. B. May 22, 1940, No. 9099. [Class 81 (i)] A growth inhibiting factor is obtained from urine by concentrating and treating the concentrated liquid with a water miscible organic solvent e.g. alcohol, with or without addition of acid, adding alkali as necessary to render the liquid neutral or slightly acid, filtering off precipitated solid and concentrating the filtrate. Further details for purifying the factor are described. Specifications 291,081, [Class 81 (i)], and 353,635 are referred to.
