[Class 54] A flexible gas container is carried on a motor vehicle in a framework comprising upper and lower frames 4, 5 surrounding panels, netting, or interlaced webbing 7 and connected at their ends by hinged trapezoidal flaps 9 which collapse outwardly as the container becomes deflated. The apices 10 of the flaps 9 at the front and rear of the container are connected by cords 11 passing through loops 12 at the sides of the container so tha tthe sides collapse inwardly as the container is deflated. The corners of the upper and lower frames 4, 5 are connected by flexible e members 13 including springs 14 to prevent swaying on sudden acceleration or braking of the vehicle. The lower frame 5 is provided with attachment lugs 51 and with U-shaped lugs 16 receiving pins 15 on the upper frame 4 when the container is deflated. The lower front flap 9 may be slotted to reduce the lifting effect of wind pressure and the flap hinges may be fitted with vibrating damping springs 18. In a modification both longitudinal sides of the framework are fitted with a steadying structure comprising links 20 pivoted to the front ends of the frames 4, 5 and connected to the pivot of the rear flaps 9 by link 19 passing through a slide 21 carried by links 22 pivoted to the rear ends of the frame parts 4, 5. Tension springs may connect the walls of the container.
