Abstract

535,177. Covers and gratings for drains &c. DUDLEY & DOWELL, Ltd., and DUDLEY, E. R. Aug. 29; 1939, No. 24761. [Class 107] Covers and gratings for aerodrome, street, and like drains and channels, whether continuous or of manhole form, have pyramidal projections on their edges which interengage with similar projections on the frames in which such covers are seated. The Figure shows a grating element 5 and two associated frame sections 12. Pyramidal teeth 7 are formed in the sloping sides of the grating, which co-act with similarly formed teeth 24 on the seating surfaces of the frame elements. The frame may be the sectional one described in Specification 535,209, or it may be of other shape or form.
