534,886. Sound record discs. PROCTOR CO., Inc., B. A. March 9, 1939. No. 8888/40. Convention date July 8, 1938. Divided out of 532,095. [Class 40(ii)] A sound record disc comprises in combination a blank of cellulose acetate which is thin and flexible so as to be progressively flexed during play in machines such as described in Specification 532,095, a central driving opening (as shown having serrations 153), an outer part 163 for a spiral sound record track made by through deformation of the blank producing opposite ridges and depressions on opposite sides of the disc, a central non-recording area 152, and a label affixed to said area and serving to strengthen said central portion and to provide space for the inscription of notes concerning the recorded matter. The blank may be lubricated by a coating of wax dissolved in carbon tetrachloride, or of ethyl cellulose and wax.
