Abstract

534,825. Bicycle frames. PAN, D. Sept. 8, 1939, No. 25461. [Class 136 (iii)] The frame is formed of two sheet-metal stampings each in the form of a cross and of dished cross-section so as to form a hollow structure when secured together, but with the rear limbs 2 spaced apart to form the rear fork, the dished limbs 2 being completed by welding to them flat plates to form fork arms of a closed D section. The front limb 1 is formed with a head socket B<SP>1</SP>, the upper limb 3 with a saddlepillar socket P, and the lower limb 4 with a support or bearing S for the engine, foot-rests or pedal-cranks. The arm 1 may be provided with an opening 10 and a hinged cover 11, so as to form a tool compartment.
