Abstract
533,552. Ventilating. AIR INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENTS. Ltd., and BOYCE, G. B. Nov. 2, 1939, No. 29203. [Class 137] [Also in Group XII] Means for preventing the solid content of air or gases from depositing on a surface, particularly in a spray booth, comprises a tank from which liquid overflows over an outwardly and downwardly directed surface extending from the wall of the tank at the liquid level, and delivering a film of liquid to the surface to be protected. The liquid fed to a tank 1 by a pipe 2 overflows at a longitudinal edge 3, and flows over a downwardly curved delivery surface in a thin film. The delivery surface or screen is adjustably connected to the tank by screws 20, an angle iron bracket being supported by screws 22. In Fig. 5, a screen 8 is fed from a trough 9, and a second trough 10 feeds screens 11 so that the paint laden air strikes the screens at each side of the passage 13 between them; and is subjected to sprays 15. The liquid from the screens and spray flows into a trough 16, passage 17 and discharge channel 18. The air is discharged through an outlet a.
