Abstract

533,336. Battery lamps. LEACH, W. Oct. 30, 1939, No. 28978. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (ii)] A lamp bulb is soldered or welded to the central electrode of a dry cell with its axis at right angles to the cell and one or two more cells are laid beside the first and series connected therewith. The spring strip is insulated from and secured alongside the wall of the cell distant from the lamp by insulated tape which secures all together, so that thumb pressure may complete the lamp circuit with the cell wall when the device is held in the hand with the lamp directed to the ground. Bitumen may be moulded around the lamp and the top of the cells, a paper or like casing enclosing the sides and bottom.
