Abstract

533,195. Coating wires; drying. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. Oct. 17, 1939, No. 28070. Convention date, Oct. 20, 1938. [Class 140] [Also in Group XIII] In coating wire with substances which give off their solvents with difficulty, e.g. chlorinated rubber, each coating after application is superficially dried in air and the solvent residues are removed from the composite layer by slowly raising the temperature. This final drying may be effected in a semi-continuous manner by passing through the wire an electric current the intensity of which is slowly increased.
