[Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv)] A screening device for an overhead electric lamp comprises a ring portior 1 for clipping on tc the base of the hood 7 and attached tc webs 3 which carry a central cup portion 2. The webs are extended to form lugs for axial positioning of the the bulb 12, and the hood 7 may be a reflector with the filament 14 substantially at its focus. The lines from the focus, to the bottom edge 9 of the ring 1, and the rim 10 of the cup 2. form a predetermined small angle d with each other.
