Abstract
531,521. Refrigerators. PATENTVERWERTUNGS-GES. HERMES. July 25, 1939, No. 21621. Convention date, July 25, 1938. [Class 29] The inner lining 1, Fig. 1, of a front door frame 12, Fig. 3, and a back 2 which is formed with or carries a refrigerating unit are assembled with the back and bottom insulation 4, 5 of corrugated cardboard, the back being connected to the lining by ties 8, 9 incorporating heatinsulating portions. A hood 11, Fig. 2, of insulation is then fitted over the assembly and an outer metal band forming a cover may be placed over it. The lining carries insulated feet 6 and the back is formed with the rear feet 3. Alternatively the door frame may be formed with integral front feet and be secured to the lining by straps or to the back by ties. The pipes from the condenser on the back may extend over the top of the lining beneath the top insulation and enter the front of the cabinet to the evaporator. The back layer of insulation may be formed with the top and side portions and be slit to pass over the pipe conduits. The back support may consist of complementary stamped grooved plates 54, Fig. 13, constituting the condenser, continued to form the motor-compressor casing 56, and with integral feet 55. The refrigerator may be suspended on a wall by means of holes 5'9 in the back, the front feet 61 being omitted and the compressor casing screened by a perforated cardboard sheet 67.
