531,482. Tobacco pipes. MODINE, A. B. July 3, 1939, No. 19326. Convention date, Sept. 2, 1938. [Class 130] An air inlet 22 to a chamber 12 in the stem of a pipe is controlled by a thermostat 23. As shown, the thermostat consists of a bimetallic strip supported at 24 by a perforated finger 17 carried by the mouthpiece 14. The free end of the bimetallic strip extends into a recess 26 in the part 16 of the mouthpiece. The inlet 22 may be closed by the part 16 on rotating the mouthpiece. Specification 521,385 is referred to.
