Abstract
531,416. Control systems. RADIO GRAMOPHONE DEVELOPMENTCO., Ltd., and PARKINSON, W. R. July 21, 1939, No. 21211. [Class 40 (i)] A remote control for an automatic pressbutton tuning wireless receiver comprises, in addition to the usual buttons 1-8 for selected stations a button R which, when depressed connects in the power circuit a switch 21 energizing a motor driving a selector disc of known type for selecting the wave length, and a coupled switch 22 energizing a second motor operating selector switches for the particular station circuit desired, all being shunted across those in the receiver. The rotation of these switches is effected on a common shaft 28 by means of impulses on a ratchet wheel 29 delivered by an armature 30 of an electromagnet 31. At the remote position a hand operated shaft 40 bears a ratchet wheel 41, having a similar number of teeth to wheel 29. Which, on rotation, makes and breaks a switch 44 in the circuit of the magnet 31 to cause the shaft 28 to move in step with the shaft 40. At the same time, through switch 46, indicator lamps 47-54 corresponding to the push buttons 1-8 are illuminated. In one position of the shaft 28 a switch 27 breaks the mains circuit to the set but not that to the transformer supplying the impulses.
