Abstract

531,258. Lawn mowers; thrust bearings. GREEN & SON, Ltd., T., and KNIGHT, F. B. June 23, 1939, No. 18401. [Class 12 (i)] [Also in Group I] The roller of a lawn mower is mounted on brackets 10 adjustably secured to the side-plates 13 of the machine in bearings comprising hardened steel balls 5 fitting in conical recesses 4, 8 in thrust-pins 2 screwing into the brackets 10 and studs 7 secured in the ends or end-plates of the roller. The studs 7 are preferably formed with circular flanges 9 receiving the ends 3 of the thrust pins and preventing dirt from entering the bearings. The feet of the brackets 10 may be connected by the bars.
