Abstract

529,349. Binding-posts. FRAENKEL, H., and AUTOMATIC COIL WINDER & ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT CO., Ltd. May 30, 1939; No. 15905. [Class 38 (i)] A binding-post adapted to receive various types of wireterminals has a clamping surface 18 on a screw 17 co-operating with a body part 10 and a shoe 20 attached to a neck 19 on the screw and guided in a slot 12 in the body adapted to clamp a wire against the bottom of the slot or against a screw stud 13 that closes the slot. The shoe 20 consists of bent metal slotted to embrace the neck 19 and bent down at 22 to retain it in place. The binding-post may be set in a cavity in a moulded casing, the upper part of the body being hexagonal or knurled to prevent rotation in the cavity and the stud 13 serving to hold the body in place. A hole in the side of the casing may be tapered to guide a wire into the slot 12. A screw 15 set in the stud 13 serves to make an additional wire connection to the post.
