[Class 129] [Also in Group I] Cocoa beans are subjected to superheated steam at a pressure of 50 to 200 lbs. per square inch and a superheat which may be between 100‹ and 200‹F. After a time of from 5 to 40 seconds, the steam pressure is released suddenly. The treatment causes the shells of the beans to become loose. Specification 472,466, [Group I], is referred to.
