[Class 75 (ii)] [Also in Group XX] In reflectors of curved section comprising a reflecting sheet pressed into contact with a rigid base by clamping means exerting tangential pressure at the margin of the sheet, means applying a bending force to the margin of the sheet is provided to ensure close contact between all parts of the sheet and base. As shown, a reflecting sheet a is pressed into contact with a trough-like base b by means of pairs of screws f engaging a bar c secured to the sheet, one of each pair exerting pressure in a tangential direction and the other tending to bend the sheet. In a modification, the screws tending to produce bending are omitted, and the curvature of the base is increased at the margin; an increased curvature may be initially provided at the margin of the sheet. A recess d may accommodate the adjacent side of the bar c, the bar may be replaced by a number of blocks, and the sheet may have a circular edge.
