528,516. Insecticides. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO., E. I. April 28, 1939, No. 12802. Convention date, April 28, 1938. [Class 81 (i)] Insecticidal compositions are prepared by the addition of a small quantity of a thiuram sulphide (mono-or disulphide) to a pyrethrum or roterone insecticide. The tetra methyl and tetraethyl sulphides are particularly suitable, other suitable thiuram sulphides are mentioned. The effectiveness of the composition is increased by the presence of water insoluble oils e.g. coconut, castor, corn, soyabean, peanut and olive oils. Solvents such as kerosene may be added. The compositions may be applied as emulsions with the addition of emulsifying and spreading agents such as soluble casein, piperidine, oleate, or as powders obtained by the admixture of solid diluents such as Bancroft clay. A number of specific compositions are described in the Specification.
