Abstract

528,223. Plate heat - exchangers. AKTIEBOLAGET SEPARATOR. May 1, 1939, No. 12983. Convention date, May 7, 1938. [Class 64 (iii)] The plates of a plate heat-exchanger for the treatment of milk are so supported in a frame that after the apparatus has been opened for cleaning they may be separately removed laterally without substantial vertical or lifting movement. Alternate channelled and plane plates 8 are suspended by hooks 3 from a rod 4 and may be supported at their lower ends by a rod 6. The plates may be held by lateral bars one of which is removable or they may rest on two bars engaging recesses in the bottom of the plates. The hooks may be welded or riveted to the plates. The thickness of the hooks of two adjacent plates is equal to the total thickness of the plates. The plates are provided with number discs to ensure replacement in correct sequence.
