Abstract

528,121. Dart boards. BROOKES, W. E., and HALL, R. April 20, 1939, No. 11935. [Class 132. (iii)] A device for preventing damage to the background on which a dartboard is placed comprises a ring of hemp or other rope plaited or otherwise woven to shape which may be penetrated by a dart, adapted to be placed around the dart board after the manner of a frame. The ring i fits closely round the periphery of the dart-board a and is rotatable about the board, being secured to the background by screws g and brackets h. The axial thickness of the ring is preferably such that the ring does not project beyond the front face of the board. According to the Provisional Specification the ring may alternatively be made of cork, wood or other suitable material or the ring may comprise a mould of thin metal or other material filled with plastic material.
