526,025. Turning. CONE AUTOMATIC MACHINE CO., Inc. Feb. 3, 1939, No. 10722/40. Convention date, Feb. 4, 1938. Divided out of 528,694. [Class 83 (iii)] In an automatic multiple-spindle workturret lathe, the turret 6 carrying work-spindles 5 carries a Geneva plate 10 co-acting with roller 8 mounted on an arm 7 rotating with the cam shaft 4. The slots 9 of the Geneva plate are inclined to radii thereof, as shown in Fig. 1, so that the roller 8 leaves them in a tangential direction when indexing is complete and. thus stops rotation of the turret before disengagement takes place. Shock is thereby reduced and no indexing bolt is necessary, the locking bolt 15, actuated by a spring 16 and a cam, merely serving to secure the turret against rotation.
