525,762. Electric cables. BEAVER, C. J., DAVEY, E. L., and GLOVER & CO., Ltd., W. T. Feb. 28, 1939, No. 6564. [Class 36] In cables with concentric conductive layers such as f, g, h arranged at various radial distances from the conductor G, each layer is produced by the helical winding of two strips of metallized insulating material. The metallic portion of each strip is narrower than the whole strip, the first strip is lapped on helically with the metallic surface outside and a small space left between adjacent turns and the second strip is then applied with the metallic surface inside and covering the above spaces. The material used for the strips as well as for all the intervening insulating strips is preferably paper impregnated before being wound and there is preferably gas in the spaces between the turns and layers. Specifications 393,694 and 404,412 are referred to.
