Abstract

524,412. Dry shavers. ADVANCE COMPONENTS, Ltd., and STAPLETON, A. W. Jan. 30, 1939, No. 3143. [Class 131] A dry shaver of the kind comprising a slotted shear plate against the inner surface of which a cutter element is reciprocated has the shear plate 5, Figs. 1 and 2, formed with a groove 9, Fig. 3, in which is situated a rod 15 for securing it to the handle 4. The slots 6. in the shear plate extend a little way down the groove 9 and also down the bent over outer margin of the plate. The channel shaped cutter 7 having cutting teeth 8 at its upper edges lies wihin the shear plate 5 and is held into engagement therewith by springs 17. It is reciprocated by a motor driven crank 10 engaging a recess 11. Openings 12 in the cutter plate prevent hair cuttings from clogging the apparatus and semicircular openings 13 in the shear plate allow cut hair to fall or be blown out.
