523,262. Cereal food preparations yeast. LOWENBACH, P. Dec. 29, 1938, No. 37770 [Classes 14 (ii) and 49] [Also in Group I] For the production of nutrient material, germ and bran layers of cereals, separated from the meal, are mixed with water or milk and, with addition of a ferment, e.g. yeast, are fermented at room temperature in an air-tight closed autoclave until a super-atmospheric pressure of 10-20 atmospheres is attained, whereupon the autoclave is suddenly opened. The product can be mixed with the separated meal and used in the production of bread &c. or nutrient substances may be washed out of the product and the extract be used in the making of cellulose-free bread, liquid and hard yeast &c.
