[Class 37] The usual blocking layer of a selenium or like rectifier is reinforced by a thin discontinuous layer of non-conductive particles deposited as from a suspension in a vaporizable medium. The surface of the blocking layer may be rough. In examples, silicon dioxide is added from a suspension in alcohol to a normal selenide blocking layer or barium sulphate in amyl acetate or butyl acetate.
