Abstract

521,935. Braces for personal wear. WALKER, J. H. Jan. 10, 1939, No. 863. [Class 141] Braces comprise a flexible strip 1 which is passed through a slidable buckle &c. 3, round the upper bar 4 of a buckle 5 carrying front brace tabs 9, upwardly through a ring- shaped member 10, and round the centre bar 2 of the buckle 3, the strip being returned through the member 10, and having its end 7 doubled - over and stitched at 8. The strip 1 is adjusted by sliding the buckle 3, and is retained in the adjusted position, Fig. 2, by being gripped between the member 10 and the lower bar 14 of the buckle 3. In this position also, the doubled-over end of the strip engages the lower edge of the member 10. The strip 1 may be separated from the buckle 3 by passing the doubled-over end 7 upwardly through the member 10. The other end of the strip 1 is arranged in a similar manner to that shown, and the strip is passed through a looped member which carries the rear brace tabs.
