Abstract
520,969. Fire - extinguishing. STERLING METALS, Ltd., PLAYER, H., and PETCH, L. L. S. Nov. 5, 1938, No. 32091. [Class 47 (ii)] A domestic fire - extinguishing apparatus, particularly for use in connection with incendiary bombs or small fires, comprises a bucketlike container 11 having a handle 12 pivoted to it at 13 and adapted to be moved from a storage position shown in dotted lines 15, to a horizontal position, where it is held by a strut or a toggle 18, in which position it is used for placing the container over the bomb or fire 17. The fireextinguishing medium which may be dry, liquid, or in gaseous form, is stored in a container 25 held in place by spring clips 26, the container, or a part 27 of it, being of readily-fusible material, such as celluloid. A shovel 21 may be secured to the container by a bracket 22 and spring clips 23, with its hand grip 24 located near the hand grip 16 of the lever 12 so that both grips'can be grasped by the hand of the user when carrying the apparatus.
