519,836. Food for animals. BECKA, J. Sept. 28, 1938, No. 28261. [Class 5 (ii)] [Also in Groups III and IV] A material suitable for addition to cattle fodder is obtained by adding powdered dolomite to phosphoric acid of 70-80 per cent. concentration, the dolomite being in an excess of at least 50 per cent. over that required to form the double salt Mg HPO4 Ca HPO,..In place of phosphoric acid, acetic, butyric and, in particular, lactic acid may be employed, the quantity of dolomite being at least 50 per cent. in excess of the quantity required to neutralise the acid. These acids are heated to about 70' C. to facilitate the reaction. The products are pulverized and salts of iron or copper may be added.
