Abstract

519,200. Sliver guides. FAIRBAIRN LAWSON COMBE BARBOUR, Ltd., and ROSS, J. B. Sept. 17, 1938, No. 27130. [Class 120 (i)] A sliver plate for conducting four slivers to a pair of delivery rollers has three apertures, the two outermost slivers being pressed over the plate, down through an outer aperture and up through the central aperture where they pass, with the two innermost slivers, through a guide to the rollers. As shown the outer apertures a, a<1> in the plate 2 are triangular in shape with the edges f<1> engaged by the two outermost slivers f inclined at 45 degrees to the longitudinal direction of the plate and the length of the slivers. The edges of the aperture a, a<1> and of the central circular aperture b are beaded or polished to allow free movement of the slivers.
