[Classes 64 (i) and 123 (ii)] [Also in Group III] A process for. obtaining protracted and intimate contact between two immiscible fluids of different densities, for use, for example, in the rectification and purification of oils, in the distillation of liquids generally and in the generation of steam, consists in directing the fluids at high velocity along a tubular path so curved in opposite directions that by centrifugal action the side by side positions of the two fluids are repeatedly reversed.
