517,501. Lenses. KODAK, Ltd. Nov. 4, 1938, No. 32000. Convention date, Nov. 6, 1937. [Class 97(i)] An objective comprises a front component consisting of a negative element cemented to the front of a. positive element, the radius of curvature of the cemented surface being less than either of the outer surfaces, and a rear component made up of a plurality of doublets each consisting of a biconvex element cemented to a negative element which, in at least one of the doublets, is biconcave. The front component may comprise a meniscus negative element and a biconvex positive element. The doublets comprising the rear component are preferably identical. The lens is particularly suitable for scanning in television and for this purpose is used to form a reduced image of a small source of light arranged at such at distance from the lens that the light forms a parallel beam between the two components.
