516,148. Moulding window, door &c. frames. CRITTALL MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., WALKER, F. P., and SYKES, W. D. June 21, 1938, Nos. 18477, 18478, and 20828. Drawings to Specification. [Class 87 (ii)] A window, door, or like frame is formed from thermoplastic or thermosettirig material by moulding it in one piece, or by building up from moulded and extruded elements joined by cleats or otherwise, the side members of the frame having Z-, T- or like standard section weathering and glazing flanges. The frame may be moulded in a two-part mould by pressure or by . injection. The mould may be fixed and provided with stop bars for filling portions of the moulding cavities to produce smaller frames. In some cases, the mould comprises parts for moulding the corners of the frame and separable portions which may be added as desired, so that a frame for a single pane or a frame for up to eight panes may be moulded as an integral unit. In some cases, the ends of the frame are moulded and provided with extensions by which they are secured to hollow extruded glazing strips. Recesses or projections may be provided for fastenings, hinges &c. or the fitments may be moulded into the frame. The first Provisional Specification describes moulds with detachable parts for moulding Z-section frames.
