Abstract

513,908. Freezing foods &c. LYONS & CO., Ltd., J., and GLUCKSTEIN, L. March 18, 1938, No. 8383. Drawings to Specification. [Class 29] Fish, meat, fruits, vegetables, &c. are frozen rapidly in an atmosphere of high humidity and the frozen products immediately packed in moisture-proof containers and placed in a cold storage room not necessarily humid. The goods are placed on an endless conveyer belt passing through a freezing tunnel or chamber closed except at narrow charging and delivery openings. The air within the chamber is circulated by a fan through a casing enclosing cooling coils, and the freezing temperature ranges between -15‹C. and -35‹C. The moisture-proof packing may be bitumenized paper, or for materials in bulk wooden boxes treated inside with waterproof material and sealed with moisture-proof tape may be used..
