512,799. Acyl-acetic arylides. GROVES, W. W. (I.G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). March 16, 1938, No. 8134. [Class 2 (iii)] Acyl-acetic arylides having substantive properties are made by condensing with an aromatic amine an acylacetic ester whose acyl group is an indole-2-carboxyl acid radicle which may be substituted in the aryl radical. The arylides are distinguished by their affinity for cellulose fibres. In an example indole-21- carboyl-acetyl-1-amino-2-methoxy-5 methyl-4 chlorbenzene is obtained from indole-2-carboxylacetic ester and 1-amino-2-methoxy-5- methyl-4-chlorobenzene. Also mentioned areindole-2<1>-carboyl-acetyl-1 amino-4-chloro-2;5- dimethoxybenzene ; indole-2<1>-carboyl-acetyl- 1-amino-6-chloro-3, 4-dimethoxybenzene ; indole-2<1>-carboyl-acetyl-1-amino-4-benzoylamino- 2, 5-dimethoxybenzene; indole-2'- carboylacetyl-1-amino-4-ethoxybenzene; and bis-44<11>- (indole-2<11>-carboyl-acetyl)-amino-3, 31-dimethyl diphenyl.
