Abstract

511,070. Condensation pumps. KODAK, Ltd. (Eastman Kodak Co.). Feb. 14, 1938, No. 4610. [Class 71)] [Also in Group IV] High boiling esters which are stated to be excellent actuating fluids for condensation pumps are purified by treatment with a perborate. Phthalates are particularly useful e.g. dibutyl, dihexyl, dioctyl or di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate. Others mentioned are di-2-ethylhexyl sebacate, dilauryl oxalate, di-capryl succinate or adipate, diamyl, dibutyl or diheayl sebacate, di-(#-phenylethyl) or di-(gamma -phenylpropyl) adipate. Preferably the ester contains 12-42 carbon atoms per molecule.
