Abstract

510,431. Graters. MOULIWARE, Ltd., and GREVILLE, W. March 3, 1939, No. 7043. [Class 28 (ii)] A grater comprises a casing 1 containing a cylindrical grater body 2 secured to a shaft 3 carrying a crank 5, and a feed hopper 6 slotted at 13 for the passage of an arm 9 carrying the pressure plate 8 and pivoted at 10 to an arm 11 secured to the side of the casing 1. In use, the arms 9, 11 are grasped in one hand, pressure being thereby applied to the material 7 to be grated, and the crank is turned with the other hand. The outlet opening is held over the object intended to receive the grated substance. A spring may be provided to urge the arm 9 towards the arm 11. The plate 8 may be pivoted to the arm 9.
