Abstract

510,279. Separating solid materials. DUMOSCH, D. C. April 12, 1938, No. 11240. [Class 117] A fruit and vegetable grader of the graded aperture type has longitudinal slots in the table in which are movable longitudinal bars or laths and a cleaning device is associated with the feed end of the table. In the form shown, fruit from the rubber lined chute 5 reaches the inclined apertured table 1 via the platform 4 and arrives at the appropriate rubber lined receptacle 37. The table 1 has longitudinal slots in which reciprocate laths 15, the feed end of each lath being connected to a crank 17 so that it traverses a circular path while the other end of each lath is raised and lowered by an arm 33 and link 34. A rotating brush 47 for cleaning the fruit is mounted at the feed end of the table. Rubber rods may be provided beneath the table to break the fall of the fruit.
