Abstract
508,907. Laminated springs. LLOYD, F., and IBBOTSON BROS. & CO., Ltd. May 24, 1938, No. 15518. [Class 108 (iii)] [Also in Group XXII] The eye in the top plate of a laminated spring is formed by turning over the end of the plate and welding it to the plate. In the Figure, the top plate 11 is turned over to form an eye 13 and the reduced end 14, which may be recessed at 16 to provide a gradual change in cross-section, is welded by electric or acetylene welding along the top plate. The V-shaped recess 15 may be filled with a V- shaped piece of metal welded in position or may be filled up with welding metal.
