Abstract

508,810. Electric immersion heaters. LOW ELECTRICS, Ltd.; A., and LOW, D. W, April 20, 1938, No. 11809. [Class 39 (iii)] An immersion heater for insertion in an open. topped tank consists of an electric heating element 4 mounted in a perforated metal tube 1. A connecting box 5 is unitary with the tube and a deformable copper tube 6, enclosing conductors 9, passes through a water-tight gland 7 and is led up the wall of the tank to a housing for a thermostatic switch disposed remotely from the tank. A capillary tube 11 mounted in brackets 12 on the tube 1 holds liquid which expands when the heater is operated and is connected to a bellows in the thermostat box. A circuit-breaking switch is operatively connected with the bellows.
