Abstract
507,329. Yarns &c. ; warping yarns; chenille. SEIM, K. F., and LOWENBERG, T. Dec. 13, 1937, No. 34486. Convention date, Nov. 11. Addition to 474,173. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 13, 1938.] [Classes 120 (iii) and 142 (iv)] [Also in Group VIII] Thread is led to a reciprocatory needle which forms it into a chain of interbound loops and to the ingoing thread is led fibrous or other loose textile material which becomes fast to the thread by the looping action. The needle 14 is reciprocated by a crank 5 driven by means which drive, via belts 104, 36, 116, the thread take-up spool 32.. and rotary brushes 113. These brushes, co-operating with strippers 112 or other brushes, deliver the textile material from the base of a hopper 109, whence it falls into a funnel 119 and is blown by blast from a nozzle 137 to the needle. Waste material is collected in a receiver 133 and returned to the hopper 109. The strippers 112 (or stripping brushes) can be displaced manually or mechanically at regular or irregular intervals. The blast nozzle valve 138 and the funnel 109 which is pivoted at 118, can be adjusted manually or mechanically at regular or irregular intervals.
