Abstract

506,431. Aminobenzene-sulphonamide derivatives. LILBY & CO., E. Dec. 2. 1937, No. 33375. Convention date, Jan. 23. [Class 2 (iii)] p-Acetylamino- or p-amino-benzene-sulphonhydroxamide is prepared by treating p-acetylaminobenzene - sulphonyl chloride , with a hydroxylamine salt and, if necessary, saponifying the product with a mineral acid. Examples are given. The p-amino compound, which possesses therapeutic properties, may be converted into its salts with non-toxic acids of an ionization constant not less than 10<-4>, e.g. hydrochloric, sulphuric, lactic, tartaric, maleic, fumaric and succinic acids.
