Abstract

503,923. Composite yarns. BELL, A. S. Oct. 14, 1937, No. 27957. [Class 120 (iii)] A composite yarn is formed by doubling together one or more crinkled yarns and one or more uncrinkled yarns by means of a doubling twist and applying an adhesive size to at least one of the yarns prior to the doubling operation so that, after the doubling operation, the yarns are stuck together. The size is preferably applied only to the shrinkable yarn and immediately prior to the doubling operation and the length of the crinkled yarn may be greater than the length of the uncrinkled yarn with which it is doubled. Specifications 471,061, 482,376, and 482,425 are referred to.
