[Class 40 (iv)] [Also in Groups XL and XXXVII] A remote-control device for a radio transmitter or combined transmitting and receiving set comprises a microphone M in a hand casing N together with flexible cord connections to telephones T a laryngaphone L and a plug P for insertion in a suitable socket in the radio set. A rotary switch R is arranged to switch the set on and off and bring the laryngaphone into use, and in a fourth position acts as a morse key. A send-receive switch S on the hand microphone controls two relays with mechanically coupled armatures that lock in either position without drawing current, Fig. 2 (not shown), and these relays operate contacts to perform the necessary circuit changes for transmission and reception. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also an arrangement, Figs. 5-8 (Cancelled) (not shown), in which a lever on the hand microphone is coupled by a mechanically -operating cable within a metallic sleeve to a switch in the radio set which operates to switch on and condition the set for transmission or reception. The electrical connections from the hand microphone are carried inside the metallic sleeve which terminates in a' plug and socket arrangement providing the necessary mechanical and electrical connections. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
