Abstract

500,579. Filing papers. RESTALL, E. H. Aug. 13, 1937, No. 22266. [Class 146 (i)] A device for filing papers comprises a tubular filing post 13, and a retaining device which includes a stem 10 sliding within the post and a member 17 of semicircular cross-section adapted partially to embrace the outside of the post, the member 17 serving, when rotated.into the upper position shown, to . facilitate the replacement of papers on the post 13 by slightly raising them, after the stem 10 has been partially withdrawn from the posts and the documents moved thereon for inspection. A knob 16 is provided for operating the parts 10, 17. The post 13 may be secured by screws 15 to the back 12 of a drawer 11 so that the documents hang therefrom, and the free end of the stem may extend through the back and have a nut 19 fitted thereto which prevents its complete withdrawal.
