Abstract

500,241. Thresholds; weather excluders. PERCIVAL. S. (Chamberlin Metal Weather Strip Co.) March 8, 1938, No. 7240. [Class 20 (iii)] A metal threshold 8 is provided on the sill of a door and a lip 4 thereon projects into a bent metal strip 5 fixed in a rabbet in the bottom of the door. A water trap 9 and draining slope 8 are provided on the outside, as well as drain holes 10, 12, and a water-collecting pan 11. The threshold may have a vertical abutment surface 19, Fig. 3, against which the floor surface 20 abuts. The lip may extend from a vertical face into a rabbet 32, Fig. 5, in the door, a flexible strip 35 being fixed in the rabbet to engage the front and lower side of the lip.
