Abstract

499,361. Ferrules. HEATH & SONS, Ltd., S., and HEATH, D. W. July 13, 1938, No. 20728. [Class 134] A supporting foot for furniture, e.g. a mantle rail, comprises a shoe 11 which is bent longitudinally, and is fitted with a bracket 15, carrying an upwardly projecting pivot 20, upon which an attachment member 25 is rotatably mounted. The shoe is closed at its ends by caps 13, and is adapted to contact with the ground at a point which is not located in the axis of the pivot 20. Ball bearings 27 are provided, and the foot 30 of the article of furniture rests on a flange 34 of the member 25, and is provided with a set screw 33 which engages a groove in the member 25.
