Abstract

498,384. Moulding hollow ware. SCHEYER, (nÚe VON PEZACHOWICZ), S., and ARCARI, S. June 3, 1937, No. 15462. Convention date, June 3, 1936. [Class 87 (ii)] [Also in Group XVII] The invention relates to drop-delivering vessels provided with so called capillary grooves 3, Fig. 1, in the spouts 2 to produce drops and prevent drip. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also spouts in which the capillary groove is slightly curved or nearly straight. In the case of porcelain vessels, a mould, Fig. 9 (Cancelled), is used in which the groove joining portion 11 is of metal or the like. The mould is in four parts consisting of two under parts a<1>, a<2>, Fig. 1 (Cancelled), and two upper parts b<1>, b<2>, (Fig. 10 (Cancelled). The part 12 forms the widened mouth 7. To prevent subsequent changes of the groove after firing, the vessel is slowly dried after moulding and before unfired bodies are glazed, the groove is wetted with a brush and if necessary remodelled to regain shape. After glazing and firing, the glaze does not adhere owing to the previous wetting. Then thin glaze is put on the walls of the groove and firing again takes place. The process can be repeated for thick glazes. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
