Abstract

496,149. Handles. KATZINGER CO., E. July 16, 1937, No. 19782. Convention date, Jan. 13. [Class 61 (i)] [Also in Group XIV] Relates to knives, e.g. paring-knives, provided with finger rests. The blade 11 has a shank 12 held in the handle 10 by friction supplemented, if desired, by a brad 13 driven into one side of the handle. The inner end of the handle is shouldered to receive a ferrule 15 provided with vertical and horizontal slots 17, 18, Fig. 4. A finger rest 19 has a right-angled bend producing a shoulder 20 and two tongues 21. The shoulder is held between the blade and ferrule, the two tongues 21 passing through the halves of the horizontal slot 18, whilst the shank 12 of the blade passes through the vertical slot 17.
