[Class 132 (i)] An amusement apparatus of the kind comprising a curved track 2 along and over which a number of cars 3 are adapted to be moved, the cross section of which track is concave, so that in the curved portions of the track the cars are caused to move, due to the action of centrifugal force, outwards and upwards in the lateral direction along the concave crosssection of the track, is characterized in that the track has a circular cross-section and that the cars are connected in such a way with a propulsive device situated outside the cars and moving continuously and being positively controlled along the said track together with the cars that the latter when affected by centrifugal force in the curved portions of the track may swing laterally outwards in an arc of a circle from the central line of the track. The propulsive devices are situated below the track and run on a guide rail 4, and carry transverse axles 5 carrying wheels 6 running on rails 7 parallel to the central rail 4, to absorb capsizing forces. Each propulsive device carries a standard 8 projecting through a slit 9 in the floor directly above the rail 4. Each standard carries two oppositely facing tall heads 10a, 10b at the centre of the circle forming the concave track, coacting with bushes 11a, 11b, which are relatively rotatable and slightly displaceable. Rods or tubes 12, 13, 14 connect the bush 11a to the front and 15 the bush 11b to the rear of a car as shown in Fig. 2. The car runs on two pairs of caster wheels the axles 16 of which are interconnected by rods 17, 18, 19 so that the wheels perform identical movements. The cars run in a serpentine path, the outside of the bends only being highly banked. A single or multiple figure eight path may be used, the crossing points being arranged at different levels.
