Abstract

495,956. Bock drills ; injectors. McINTYRE, J. T. April 17, 1937, No. 11046. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Oct. 18, 1937.] [Class 124] [Also in Group XXVIII] A device for withdrawing the dust from a rock drill bore hole by suction, comprises an annular ejector nozzle operated by the working fluid. The motive fluid enters by the passage 15, and is discharged radially through the slot 16. In its passage through the annular nozzle 17 it entrains dust-laden air from the passages 18 and 21, the whole being discharged through the outlet 24. The ejector may be lined with rubber. A resilient skirt 12 engages the rock face, and a bush 7 engages the surface of the drill steel. In modifications, the ejector is mounted on the body of the drill either on its front or rear ends, the dusty air being drawn up through the bore of the drill steel.
